BUSINESS BACKGROUND

Pavers Ltd was established in York in 1971 by Catherine Paver. After opening the first shoe shop in Scarborough, Pavers continued to open similar High Street shops throughout the North and in 1996 its first Outlet store was opened in North Shields. This formula has proved to be a great success and more outlet stores have followed. Pavers now has over 50 shops around the UK and Ireland. An innovative company, Pavers continues to expand year on year, always looking for new opportunities. Their products can now be found on TV shopping channels and on their website www.shoe-shop.com (the largest online shoe-store in Europe).

Today Pavers continue to be family owned and run by Cathie's three sons - Stuart Paver MD, Graham Paver, Logistics Director and Ian Paver, Outlet Buying Director.

THE PROBLEM

Pavers was in the process of re-locating to a new custom built head office and warehouse in York and had planned an opening event for key clients. At the opening event they wanted to take their clients on a tour of the new offices followed by a day at York Races.

With very tight timescales, they needed to find a reliable local supplier of high quality furniture that would reflect the right image in their new and prestigious custom-built offices.

THE SOLUTION

They were recommended to Ben Johnson by their interiors and shop fitting specialist. The Director of our Office Interiors and Furniture Division visited the new offices and provided very useful assistance with the layout and specification of new furniture. Key members of the Pavers team were able to visit the furniture showroom so that they could see what choices were available and make the right selection.

The project involved selecting furniture for the 32 members of the head office team, and also for 2 meeting rooms and the conference room. Key criteria were availability, delivery, customer service and achieving the right look within budget.
