BUSINESS BACKGROUND

My Home Move Ltd is the UKs largest independent provider of Mover conveyancing. Established in 2000 they have rapidly grown and continue to define best practice and exceptional customer service in this marketplace. Their website can be found at http://www.myhomemove.com

THE PROBLEM

Due to continued rapid growth in Leicester, My Home Move were occupying two separate buildings that were becoming increasingly short of space. My Home Move needed help to plan, design and execute a significant move of around 200 staff from two current buildings into a brand new purpose built single Flagship Headquarters, large enough to subsequently absorb a number of smaller satellite offices. The move was complex and included many elements such as Interior design, Fit-out, electrics, furniture specification, move management and much more. The requirement was for a clean, contemporary, vibrant and energetic workplace. The floor plan was 3 floors with 150 staff split across 2 main floors, breakout areas, boardrooms and meeting rooms were all to be considered.

THE SOLUTION

Ben Johnson were selected to be one of 3 suppliers short listed to provide mock-ups and demonstration solutions to allow us to make fair comparisons between the quality, aesthetic appeal and value for money of the key furniture elements of the scheme developed by our Design Partner. It quickly became apparent that the scheme as envisaged by our designers needed to be adapted in a pragmatic way in order to deliver the desired aesthetic but for a realistic budget. From the first meeting Ben Johnson differentiated themselves with their open book approach to finding the correct furniture solution for our budget. Ben Johnson provided two different UK manufactured solutions as part of the mock-up process and clearly demonstrated that they were working in our best interests in relation to our needs and budget and were not trying to sell a pre-determined product that didnt fit the bill. From start to finish I was impressed with the knowledge and consultation I received and nothing was ever too much trouble for Grant or John and their supporting team. I was particularly impressed by the extent to which they engaged the key contacts from each of the suppliers in the process so that product modification issues could be dealt with quickly and in an expert manner. Ben Johnson worked hard to get us the best possible value and best solution for our budget and we are confident we got a fantastic deal overall.

The project had some very critical deadlines and did require some flexibility in terms of installation, Ben Johnsons hit every deadline and agreed budget and the relocation was a total success. I was initially very skeptical of Grants claims to offer added value but my experience was that they delivered on all of their promises including a commitment to actively manage their elements of the project in close co-operation with other suppliers, clear and open pricing, great installation teams who solved practical issues as they arose and customer support services who actively solved issues as they arose. I am very confident these were just part of the service and we werent charged premiums for these services.
